Day 1: USHUAIA

Day 2- USHUAIA

Half day Excursion to the National Park with entrance fee and End of The World train ticket. The Tierra del Fuego National Park represents the southernmost protected area, the  only National Park that has coastlines, covering a stretch of 6 km. wiide over the Beagle Channel and an area of 63,000 hectares.We can reach it by the National Highway No. 3 to N.A. Ushuaia, we’ll meet along the way Pipo River, Monte Susana, Ensenada Bay, Redonda Island sighting, lake Roca Casita del Bosque, Laguna Verde and Negra, beaver dam, Lapataia Bay, and reaching the end of the route (3,242 km from Capital Federal). The topography of the park is extremely varied, everything is a series of craggy mountains, rivers, valleys and lakes, resulting in varied landscapes from the picturesque and lively stream to the mass of towering mountains, or the extraordinary spectacle of the majestic Beagle Channel . During the spring and summer, you can admire varied and colorful flowers such as mutillas, violet, primrose, white orchids, armories, white and yellow daisies, and the various tree species: Cinnamon, Wood Dura Notros Lenga Ñire, Burgundy presenting as Misodendro parasites and the Llao Llao, observing lichens, which hang in the form of a beard. The most common mammals living in the Park are foxes and rabbits but also muskrats and beavers.

Walk the same path used by the prisoners a 100 years ago! We invite you to relive the history of the Prison Train, to be delighted in these landscapes, made up by the winding river Pipo, the waterfall Macarena, and the majestic forest, covering an inaccessible part of Tierra del Fuego National Park, aboard a historical railroad with its vapors locomotives, cars and elegant large windows. We talk about the Train to the End of the World, the legend that was left to die.

In the afternoon we head to the Beagle Channel Navigation . We began sailing out of Puerto Tourist, towards the Beagle Channel, enjoying as we move away from the panoramic view of the coast of Ushuaia, overlooking the most important buildings, Museum (old prison), Museum of the End World, the industrial area, and mounts Olivia and Cinco Hermanos. We sail to the southwest, approaching the island of Los Lobos, where, from the boat, we enjoy the view of specimens of sea lions, watching their permanent habitat, in a wonderful setting.

During the afternoon, we drive to the Island of Birds, habitat Magellanic Cormorants, Imperial Cormorants and privileged sector to spot examples of marine birds. Then we continue to the Lighthouse Eclaireurs in the archipelago of the same name, where the ship Monte Cervantes sank in 1930. The return will be through Paso Chico, overlooking the tunnel stays and Fique, we return to Ushuaia, with a stunning view of the frame that gives the city and Mount Martial Glacier.

Day 3  USHUAIA

Half day tour Escondido and Fagnano lakes. The program begins in the morning when we embark on the journey from the city of Ushuaia. We travel along the National Route 3 north and cross several mountain ranges of the Andes Mountains where we’ll discover peat bogs, glaciers and even waterfalls in the middle of the Patagonian forest. In Rancho Hambre we begin to climb the Steep Garibaldi following the winding path of the route arriving at a vantage point at 430 meters from where we’ll have spectacular views of the Lakes Escondido and Fagnano. Then we make a short stop at Lake Escondido, where we ‘ll see the emerald green waters surrounded by an Andean Patagonian forest in a landscape of breathtaking beauty. We continue the trip through a local sawmill to end at Lake Fagnano, located 100 km north of Ushuaia and one of the largest in South America.

Day 4  USHUAIA / EL CALAFATE

Day 5  EL CALAFATE

Breakfast. Full day excursion Ice Rivers Express . We head to to the boat excursion called Rivers of Ice express. We embark in the port of Punta Bandera and the guides explain the safety measures. Once on board we sail across the north arm of the Argentino Lake to reach the Upsala channel, where we will find a spectacular Iceberg Barrier. From there we will have a panoramic view of the Upsala Glacier. Then we navigate the Spegazzini Channel, where we will observe the Seco Glacier to reach the front of Spegazzini Glacier, the highest in the National Park. Return to Calafate.

Day 6  EL CALAFATE

Breakfast

Full day tour to Los Glaciares National Park . Departure from the morning to travel the 80 kms distance separating El Calafate from the Perito Moreno glacier, unique in the world because of its constant progress. During the trip you will see beautiful places in the Andean foothills, along the south bank of the Lake Argentino. After crossing the river Centinela and Mitre, we enter the National Park Los Glaciares. Bordering the Lake Rico we begin to spot the icebergs floating on the water until we can finally appreciate the full extent of this natural wonder that has been declared by the United Nations as World Heritage. We stay in the park and explore it through the many walkways that offer panoramic views of the glacier at different heights.
